London stars such as Cole Palmer, Kai Havertz and Cristian Romero are among the 35 Premier League players who could miss out on Boxing Day fixtures. 

A large cohort of top-flight stars, including the London trio, are just one booking away from earning a suspension for the festive fixture. 

It could spell disaster for a number of clubs – with multiple teams boasting more than player on the list of potential absentees. 

The likes of Sheffield United, Newcastle and Crystal Palace all have three or more players at risk of picking up a suspension in the gameweek prior to Boxing Day. 

Meanwhile, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal will all be wary that some of their big name stars could miss out on their crucial Christmas clashes.

The full list of players who are one booking away from a suspension includes: Anel Ahmedhodzic, Rayan Aït-Nouri, Kristoffer Ajer, Joachim Andersen, Joelinton, Jordan Ayew, Jayden Bogle, Matty Cash, Vladimír Coufal, Abdoulaye Doucouré, Lewis Dunk, Jhon Durán, Enzo Fernández, Saman Ghoddos, Billy Gilmour, Gustavo Hamer, Kai Havertz, Hwang Hee-Chan, Issa Kaboré, Jamaal Lascelles, Sean Longstaff, Orel Mangala, John McGinn, Kaoru Mitoma, Darwin Núñez, William Osula, Cole Palmer, Antonee Robinson, Cristian Romero, Ibrahim Sangaré, Pape Sarr, Marcos Senesi, Raheem Sterling, Joel Ward, Ashley Young.

It’s a staggering list of potential Boxing Day absentees – with other notable names like Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez and Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez also included.

Not every team will be in action on Boxing Day itself but the likes of Newcastle, Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest all set to play on that day. 

The Blades have the most players (four) at risk of suspension in the league – with Ahmedhodzic, Bogle, Hamer and Osula all one booking away from a ban.

Meanwhile, the Magpies have three – including Joelinton, Lascelles and Longstaff – at risk, while Forest have just two.  

On the 27th, Chelsea will be in action as they take on Crystal Palace – with Fernandez, Palmer, Joachim Andersen, Jordan Ayew and Joel Ward all close to a suspension.

The following day, the Blues’ London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal will both be in action when they take on Brighton and West Ham respectively. 

For the two London sides, they’ll be hoping that the likes of Romero, Havertz and Pape Sarr will refrain from earning a booking and will be available for the match.
